Standout Lyric:

Bas and J Cole’s chemistry allows for them to push each other and make a song that works flawlessly with each other strengths. We already know J Cole and Bas have made great songs together like Night Job, Lit, and New York Times. On “Too High to Riot” Night Job (feat. J Cole) was one of the best songs on the album and once again Tribe (feat. J Cole) is one of the best songs on milky way.
Standout Lyric:
“Heard it all, the commentary’s dead
They go to state, don’t get no GPA’s
Got TTA’s the commissary’s fed”
Over smooth production by Ron Gilmore, Bas raps about his life and America. The production allows for Bas’s talent to shine. This song is a great example of Bas’s increase in lyrical talent from “Too High To Riot”.
3) Boca Raton (feat. A$AP Ferg)
Standout Lyric:
“I’m out in Boca Raton
I’m sipping Roca Patron”
A$AP Ferg does an incredible job on this song the beat fits his flow perfectly. Bas comes in with a similar flow to A$AP Ferg which allows for Bas and A$AP Ferg to blend perfectly with the beat. Overall, Bas and his producers did a great job on this track
Overall Album Rating 85/100
After almost 3 years, Bas comes back with an album filled with incredible production, features, and lyrics. Many will ask if it is better than Too High to Riot. I personally feel Milky Way is better than Too High to Riot due to the increase Bas’s production and lyrical talent. This album shows that every artist currently in the Dreamville label is only getting better and it will be interesting to see how J cole, Cozz, and other Dreamville artists improve with future releases.
